Bush Attends To Human-Rights Admonishment Duty

President George Bush has dutifully admonished China for human rights abuses. Beijing has been suitably outraged that one country would interfere in the internal matters of another. Now that is done with, everyone can get down to enjoying the politics-free Olympics.

Bush To Attend Beijing Olympics’ Opening Ceremony

U.S. president George W. Bush will attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, the White House has confirmed.

It was always the case that he would go to the Games at some point, but, up until now, the question was whether he would side with the world leaders who said they would boycott the opening ceremony for human rights reasons.

Other world leaders who have said they will be in the Bird’s Nest on August 8: Australia’s prime minister Kevin Rudd, Canbodia’s King Norodom Sihamoni, Croatia’s President Stjepan Mesic and Finland’s prime minister Matti Vanhanen. Bush is the big twig.
