If this wasn’t on the web site of the U.S. government’s Consumer Product Safety Commission, I would have thought it a hoax: Halloween fake teeth, made in China inevitably, have been recalled because they contain unsafe levels of lead paint. The U.S. importer is Amscan Inc. of Elmsford in New York, which describes itself as “the largest designer, manufacturer and distributor of decorated party goods and party accessories in the world”. It is the retail party business subsidiary of AAH Holdings, a closely held company with annual sales of $1.4 billion. 43,000 sets of the fake teeth are involved.
